2012 Committee Members
Archana & Milind Gokarn - Presidents
Archana and Milind both grew up in Belgaum. They moved to the Bay area in 1998 having lived from 1993 thru 1998 in Chicago, IL. They have served on the Committee of the Association of Midwest Konkanis (AMKA) in 1994. Their three kids (Mihika and Tejas, who are 10 years old, and Aalok is 6 years) keep them very busy. Milind is the President of a specialized software company, while Archana balances the home and occasionally assists at the software company.
Aruna & Ram Acharya:
Aruna and Ram are originally from Karnataka and have been married since 1995. They moved to Bay Area in 2002 after living six wonderful years in Japan. They are active participating in KAOCA programs, they have just served the 2011 KAOCA Committee and are warmly welcomed to the 2012 KAOCA committee. Aruna likes travelling, singing, cooking and socializing with friends. Ram directs Engineering for a major company and wishes he had more time for his hobbies including painting. They have two children, Medha (12) and Mihir (5). Medha loves singing, dancing, painting, playing piano and soccer. She performed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram in 2010. Mihir is developing his skills in singing.
Akshata & Ashvin Kallianpur:
Akshata and Ashvin (originally from Goa and Mumbai respectively) moved to the Bay Area from Cincinnati (Ohio) in 2004; they have been active KAOCA participants since then and have previously served on the KAOCA committee in 2006 and are looking forward to being a part of the 2012 committee! Their daughter Alpana (8) and son Taneesh (1) complete their family.
Apeksha & Vikram Kulkarni:
Apeksha and Vikram are originally from amchi Mumbai. Vikram came to the bay area in 2005 and Apeksha joined him soon after they got married in 2008. They enjoy coming for KAOCA functions every year and are excited to be part of the KAOCA committee this year. Their 2 year old, Ishani keeps them on their toes. Apeksha is currently a home maker and spends her time looking after Ishani. Vikram in his spare time enjoys socializing, hiking, playing tennis and cricket.
Ameeta Manjeshwar:
Ameeta has lived in the Bay Area since 1996. She has been actively involved in KAOCA for the past few years and served on the Entertainment Committee for both, the Bay Area Konkani Sammelan and the 25th Anniversary celebration. Ameeta is a travel enthusiast and has traveled to exotic places like Africa, South East Asia, Egypt and Jordan.
Rekha & Kiran Mundkur:
Rekha and Kiran Mundkur have lived in the Bay area for the past 29 years. They have two children Ronak (aged 11 years) and Simran (aged 6 years). Kiran and Rekha have served in the past KAOCA Committees and Sammelan Committees as well. Kiran works at HP and Rekha is with Stratford School.
Sharmila & Mandar Surkund:
Sharmila & Mandar both born and brought up in Mumbai and together since 1992. They have a daughter Sanjana who is a Junior in high school. They moved to Bay Area in 1999 after a short stint in the Middle East. Sharmila works with special needs children for the Cupertino School District. Mandar works as a Enterprise Storage Professional. They both enjoy Indian light music. They have both served in previous KAOCA Committees and 2008 Konkani Sammelan Entertainment Committee.
Radha & Anup Netrawali:
Radha and Anup Netrawali are living in the Bay Area since early 2009. Before moving to Bay Area they lived in Michigan for 9 years. They have a 6 year old son and his name is Aarnith. Radha works with Micros Retail and Anup is currently with Cisco. Their interests are music and Sports.
Prasad Pai:
Prasad Pai moved to the Bay Area in 2010. He is son of Prashanth & Muktha Pai Kochikar from Udupi. Software Engineer by profession, he enjoys good food, debates and making fine art. He is very active in all KAOCA activities since he moved to the bay area.
